There are many things that can quench the romance. in your marriage, if you don’t destroy them, you need to be familiar with them and learn how to handle them with the wisdom of God. 
They are:
Ignorance:
Lack of knowledge about romance, love, and intimacy is the bane of many marriages.
Culture/tradition and customs. Most cultures in the world do not encourage romance. In fact, most of them make men masters and women servants or seven slaves in their home. Romance cannot thrive under such a condition

Busyness. When you are too busy to spend time with your spouse, it will hurt romance in your marriage.

Dictatorship. Romance will be destroyed if the man is autocratic and dictatorial.

Routine. Lack of variety creates boredom in marriage as it destroys romance.

Negative communication. Complains, criticism, nagging, lying, cutting remarks, murmuring, etc can destroy romance.

Ineffective communication. Silent treatment, ambiguity, not speaking one’s mind, etc can destroy love, intimacy, and romance in our homes,

Anger. Anger can also destroy it.

Unforgiveness. Offense, bitterness, slander, clamor, and malice should also be dealt with.

Distance. Romance will be dead if a long-distance relationship is not handled with care and understanding.

Lack of privacy. A situation where husband and wife stay in the same room with their grown-up children will hurt their sex life and romance.

Wonders of romance in marriage:
– It makes marriage easier
– It leads to intimacy in marriage
– It leads to a peaceful marriage
– It solidifies marriage and family life
– It is a direct note to peace
